In order to let NCS students know more about the Hong Kong community and raise their awareness in caring for the society, we organized a learning experience outside classroom. They experienced the hardships of street sleepers on the Mongkok streets.
There were ten participants. We firstly learnt more about the poverty. Then each student took one cardboard and slept on the street, bridge and subway. After that, we returned to School of poverty Caring and had a sharing with the street sleeper, Uncle Gun.
After this activity, students experienced and learnt a lot. They understood the disparity between the rich and the poor in Hong Kong. They determined to pay more attention and show more care to the street sleepers.
