The local 3-day workplace exploration tour was a valuable opportunity for secondary 3 to 5 students to gain hands-on experience of the working world. The tour included visits to a salon in a housing estate, the only Tannery factory left in Hong Kong, and a 4-star hotel called "The Cityview".
During the visit to the salon, students had a chance to observe and interact with a professional hairdresser and beautician. They learned about the different hair and beauty treatments offered by the salon, as well as the skills and techniques required to provide quality service to customers.
The visit to the Tannery factory gave students a unique insight into the leather industry. They learned about the various stages of leather production, from raw materials to finished products, and the environment and challenges faced by the industry.
Finally, the visit to "The Cityview" hotel provided students with an opportunity to explore the hospitality industry. They learned about the different departments within a hotel, such as reception, housekeeping, and food and beverage, and the skills required to provide excellent customer service.
