Jockey Club "Touching Moments, Nurturing Lives" Virtual Reality Chinese Language Teaching Programme
Date: 06/07/2023
Our school participated in the "VR Experience Week" of the Jockey Club "Touching Moments, Nurturing Lives" Virtual Reality Chinese Language Teaching Programme. On the afternoon of July 6th, a group of S.2 and S.3 students, led by their Chinese language teacher, went to the Chinese University of Hong Kong to participate in the experience activities. The students had the privilege of attending a "Regional Literature Class" taught by Hong Kong writer Mr. Tsang Wing-chung. They followed CUHK students to visit the landmark attractions of Chung Chi College, learned the meaning of the college motto "Strive for the Highest Good", and enjoyed the scenery around the Unfinished Lake. They also put on VR glasses, used mobile phone software, and sat in the Grand Hall to appreciate various campus landscapes, experiencing how modern technology preserves the "original scenery" and becomes an important material source for "regional literature". This activity broadened the students' horizons, introduced them to "regional literature", helped them understand its significance to a place, and appreciate the value of words. They benefited greatly from this experience.
