Biotechnology Workshop

STCC joined an innovative science education program, Amgen Biotech Experience (ABE), which was supported by the Amgen Foundation. CUHK is the HK ABE site which provides training for secondary school teachers and necessary materials for ABE program. In this workshop, 24 students from S3-S5 learned different biotechnology techniques such as gel electrophoresis and PCR. They had practiced the pipetting skills of micropipette. They also used gel electrophoresis to analyze different types of dyes and plasmids. Through the workshop, students can admire the advanced technology in biotechnology field.
