Aims of Music (音樂科教學宗旨)

Objectives of Music (音樂科教學目標)

  1. 發展音樂意念和掌握創作技巧,配合演奏和聆聽,以培養創意和想像力 Develop music ideas and acquire creating skills, together with performing and listening, to cultivate creativity and imagination.

  2. 發展演奏的技巧以體驗和表現音樂,在實踐過程中,重視培養音樂想像力和音樂感 Develop performing skills to experience and express music, with emphasis on cultivating musical imagination and musicality in practice.

  3. 透過音樂課堂的基礎訓練,培養學生可轉移的共通能力,裝備學生成為廿一世紀香港社會所需求的人才Equip the students to meet the need of Hong Kong society in the 21st century with the transferable generic skills from the music lessons.

Curriculum of Music Lessons (各級音樂課程)

本校的音樂課程,共分三個層面。第一層,是普及基礎音樂教育,主要是中一至中五常規音樂課程。初中音樂課程,提供基礎音樂知識及技巧的訓練,特色是上學期「一堂教授唱歌+一堂用電子琴教授彈奏所唱的歌曲」,下學期則偏重教授音樂知識,各級初中的主題如下:

中一:西洋管弦樂團
中二:古典作曲家生平與著名作品
中三:中國傳統樂器及文化

中四音樂課程,則總其成,以「樂隊/器樂合奏」為主題,課堂會教授學生彈奏鍵盤樂器、結他、低音結他及爵士鼓的基本技巧,讓所有學生除了唱歌之外,都有機會經歷彈奏樂器,甚至體驗分組合奏。

中五音樂課程,更帶有職業導向的意味,以「多媒體影音製作」為主題,教授學生使用網上影音剪接軟件,與手機/平板電腦的影音應用程式,製作原創影音作品。希望教導學生,以音樂與其他藝術媒介連繫,培養有能力與廿一世紀社會需求的人才。

為配合音樂教育,音樂學會會聯同校園電視台、學生會與四大會社,每年會舉辦班際音樂比賽,讓所有學生都有機會走上舞台,體驗音樂演出的樂趣。學生會自行決定班歌,預備演出道具,設計班衫/舞衣,編排舞蹈,甚至舞台裝飾、燈光、攝錄等,都是在老師指導之下,由學生親自操作。

第二層,是發展性質的音樂教育,主要是音樂課外活動/校隊的訓練。為照顧對音樂有興趣的學生,學校設有音樂學會、管弦樂團、合唱團、無伴奏合唱隊,讓具有音樂才幹,有不同的音樂平台可以發揮。除了剛才提及的班際音樂比賽,學校每年亦會舉辦獨唱、小組合唱比賽、迦南自由show(午間音樂表演)、迦南街頭show、聖誕節崇拜、學校各項典禮,如畢業禮、結業禮等,都會有學生音樂接受訓練與發揮的空間。

第三層,是精英音樂教育,主要是個別教授的音樂訓練。音樂老師會密切觀察學生學習音樂的表現,找出具有音樂潛力或對音樂學習動機特別強的學生,或邀請導師一對一教授,或音樂老師親自指導,讓音樂科精英得到進一步發展的機會。

 

The music curriculum of our school is divided into three levels. The first level is the basic universal music education, is mainly founded in S1 to S5 regular music courses. The music courses of junior forms provides training in basic music knowledge and skills. The feature is "one lesson singing + one lesson using electronic piano to play songs" in the 1st term. In the 2nd term we focus on teaching music knowledge. The themes of music course in each junior form are as follows:

S1: Western Orchestra
S2: Classical composer's life and their famous works
S3: Chinese traditional musical instruments and culture

The S4 music course is the consolidation of playing musical instruments, with the theme of "Band/Instrumental Ensemble". We will teach students the basic skills of playing keyboard instruments, guitars, bass guitars and drums, so that except singing, all students have the opportunity to experience playing an instrument, or even playing musical instruments together with their classmates.

S5 music courses are more career-oriented. With the theme of "Creative Multimedia Production", students are taught to use online audio and video editing software, and mobile phone/tablet applications to create original audio and video works. I hope to teach students to use music connecting with other art media and cultivating the talents, who are capable of meeting the needs of society in the 21st century.

In order to complement music education, the Music Society, together with C&V , the Student Union and the four Houses, will hold an inter-class music competition every year, so that all students have the opportunity to step onto the stage and experience the fun of musical performance. The students will decide on their own class songs, prepare performance props, design class shirts/dance clothes, choreograph dances, and even make the stage decorations, lighting, video recording, etc., all of the processes above are under the guidance of the teacher and operated by the students themselves.

The second layer is developmental music education, is mainly founded in the music extracurricular activities / school team training. In order to cater for students who are interested in music, the school has a music society, school orchestra, school choir, and a cappella team, so that students with musical talents can play on different music platforms. In addition to the inter-class music competition I just mentioned, the school also holds solo singing, group singing competition, Canaan Show (stage performance in the lunch break), Canaan Road Show, Christmas services, and ceremonies, such as graduation ceremony and end-of-term ceremony. There will be room for students to receive training and play in music.

The third layer is elite music education, is mainly founded in the music training by individual training. Music teacher will closely observe the performance of students in music learning, recognizes students with musical potential or strong motivation for music learning, or invite tutors to teach them in the one-on-one, basis, or music teacher performs personally guidance, so that music elites can get further development opportunities.
