PSH - Museum Tour : Sino-Japanese War 1894-95「甲午爭與戰」
The department of Chinese History organised a tour to Hong Kong Museum of Coastal Defence this year and participated in an exhibition of Sino-Japanese War. Sino-Japanese War was an important history in China, not only did it symbolise the failure of Self-Strengthening Movement (1861-1895), but also marked the onset of a scramble among Western powers for concessions from China. Therefore, it is important for the students who is studying Chinese History to know this crucial information.
The information of the exhibition was detailed, it talked about the establishment of the Beiyang Fleet and the Meiji Restoration in Japan. The tour turned out into a great success. Students enjoyed the tour very much. They learned important knowledge and information outside the classroom in a proactive and interesting way.
